Curriculum

Our students study a course selection that includes Bible, math, English, science, and history. We also include art, music and fine arts instruction. For grades K5 through 8th we use the ABeka curriculum for all subjects other than Bible, where we use the Positive Action for Christ and Summit ministries curricula. The ABeka curriculum and Bob Jones Press is used primarily in the high school, though we use a variety of sources for specific remedial or honors classes.  and our course of study meets or exceeds the requirements for the state of South Carolina.

Bible and Chapel

Bible is a required subject at MCS. Chapel is held once a week. Our Chapels include one for K5 through 5th grade, one for middle school and one for high school.

MCS offers athletics on the elementary, junior varsity and varsity levels. We belong to a youth athletic league complied of local private and Christian schools. We are members of the South Carolina Association of Christian Schools 2A for varsity sports. We offer girls volleyball, cheerleading, basketball and soccer. We offer boys soccer, basketball, and baseball. Youth leagues are provided for soccer, basketball and cheerleading. Our gymnasium contains locker rooms, bathrooms, and concessions. We have soccer and baseball fields for outdoor sports.

Testing

Test Point placement tests are given to all new 2nd grade-12th students who enroll at MCS. The results are used to determine academic deficiencies and to establish grade placement. Each spring, the Iowa Achievement Tests are given to all students in grades K5 through 11th grade to insure on-going academic development. The 10th graders take the PSAT test. Prior to graduation students must take either the SAT or the ACT test.
