A Burden Began A Legacy
In 1951, during a tent revival, a burden for organizing a new church began in the hearts of the people attending. What started out as a burden, soon became reality. First Free Will Baptist Church grew and soon was established in a small neighborhood located on King Ave in Florence, SC.
1972
In 1970, contemplation for a Christian School using Accelerated Christian School Curriculum, was in progress. Maranatha Christian School began in 1972 starting with high school students. The daycare and elementary was located at the Bible Church.
Breaking Ground
The church and school were being blessed abundantly by the Lord and new land was bought in order to expand the church and school ministry. August 13, 1978, a breaking ground ceremony began on the new property at 2624 W Palmetto St. September 2,1980, MCS started their first school year in the new building.
Many things have changed but our mission is still the same
God has truly blessed First Church and MCS throughout the years and we are thankful that He still is using this ministry today. Many updates, buildings, and expansions have taken place, but our goal is still the same. Our desire is to partner with parents
to help their children establish a Christian World View and a well-rounded academic foundation so they may grow to be great stewards for our Lord Jesus Christ.
