History

” Maranatha: THE LORD IS COMING SOON! 1 Cor. 16:22. When the school came into existence three years ago, no more appropriate name could have been chosen. Following a vote by our sister church to discontinue their part of Maranatha, the First Free Will Baptist Church voted without opposition to have all grades as of the fall of 1975.” MCS BEACON yearbook 1975

MCS is a ministry of the First Free Will Baptist Church and was established in 1972. The school grew in abundance which soon opened an opportunity to relocate in an area that could grow for years to come. MCS was located on King Avenue but in 1980, it relocated to 2624 West Palmetto Street.

The first graduating class of Maranatha was the class of 1974.  Throughout the years of the school’s existence, MCS graduates have distinguished themselves in many areas.  Because of the school’s longevity, MCS graduates are now sending their children and grandchildren to the school. Maranatha recently celebrated 50 years of existence and we pray for many more years to EQUIP, SERVE, and IMPACT for generations to come.
